Sunday 9th March saw the final Scottish National Championship instalment of the indoor track and field season, with the rescheduled Under 17 and Senior Championships which had been postponed from January’s storm weekend. Pitreavie AAC athletes kept their indoor season going and were out representing themselves and the club with great performances, pbs and well earned medals. We had many athletes across events competing in the rounds, with the highlights featured below.

Nieve Hannell ran a strong and commanding race to take the Under 17 800m title 🥇, we also had finalist Isla Gourley finishing in 6th place. Just a short time later Nieve’s training partner Millie Ovens ran in similar style to take the Under 17 1500m title 🥇 in a well executed race.

Under 17 Isla Turton Pheby had a busy day of competition with a semi final place in the 60m as well as taking 8th place in final of the 60m Hurdles.
Special mention to Faye Allan who took 8th place in the Under 17 long jump, jumping over 5m for the first time.
In the Under 17 200m Christy Cameron took the bronze medal🥉after 3 superb rounds with Esme Deacon placing 4th in the final.

In the Senior age group Katie Dinwoodie ran both the 60m and 200m reaching the finals in both events. The 60m saw Katie taking 6th place before running an excellent 200m to take the bronze medal 🥉
Finally, Cameron Thores in the T47 category finished his indoor season with his fastest 400m of 2025 in 53.85 and a top UK ranking.
Well done to all of our athletes who competed, it’s been a long indoor season and we look forward to what the outdoor track and field season will bring!
